Who decides?

Today, take a minute (or more) to think about how to cooperate.

I have this quote from guru Nisargadatta Maharaj on my refrigerator.

It says, “Cooperate with your destiny, don’t go against it, don’t thwart it. Allow it to fulfill itself.”

I like to think I have some control over my life, but often I feel like destiny or the universe has its own choices for me.

I have discovered that forcing outcomes doesn’t work for me.

I’ve discovered that sometimes I want the universe to decide so I don’t have to.

Mostly, I just try to follow my gut — my intuitive spirit and not get too bent out of shape when things don’t go the way I wish they would.

Oh, and definitely a dollop of patience.

It takes that as well.
