The Detours
Today, take a minute (or more) and think about the ride. Do you ever think, “When am I going to get there?” One of the most important philosophies of life is to “enjoy the ride.” We’ve all taken fabulous road trips where the ride was more important than the destination. But sometimes, the journey of life falls short of the excitement of a road trip. Sometimes we get lost, double back, and then end up where we started. That’s the way life rolls. It’s difficult to determine why some of us must wait longer than others “to arrive.” Hopefully, it means we learned more along the way, like the side trips when you drive an extra 300 miles to see the world’s largest chest of drawers or Ben N Jerry’s flavor graveyard. Maybe the side trips are where we learn the most interesting things about ourselves. Today, decide not to worry about the detours — you may discover something worth the trip.
