Sit in Stillness For a Minute (or more)

Eckhart Tolle says, “Be the silent watcher of your thoughts and behavior. You are beneath the thinker. You are the stillness beneath the mental noise.”

Now and then, we just have to “reel it in.”

Sometimes, the brain — the thoughts — the clatter — becomes a runaway train. Thoughts are emotionally charged, and often we don’t even realize how we get up in the same thought over and over again. Sometimes, a change of scenery — a quiet place can help. Do you have a place in nature where you can go and get away from the noise pollution at home? You know, the television, computer, buzz of appliances, traffic or construction.

Find a place — then listen to the quiet — push the thoughts away — breathe in and out — focus on your breath and empty your mind into the stillness.
