September 6 — Mindful Minute
Today, take a minute (or more) and be carefree. Many of us think the world is too serious to be carefree. Eckhart Tolle says, “Life isn’t as serious as the mind makes it out to be.” Synonyms of carefree include untroubled, at ease, unworried and cheery. Being carefree is simply keeping a positive attitude that is free of worry. Worry is a double-edge sword. First, it doesn’t accomplish anything and second it puts attention and energy on the very things that we don’t want. Often, we believe “worry” is a form of nurturing. We tell our friends and our loved ones that we worry about them. Some of us believe that worrying about things has the power to prevent bad things from happening. But instead of visualizing doom and gloom for our loved ones through worry, we should visualize them and ourselves living lives of joy, abundance and excitement. Worry is our imagination running wild creating a whole host of horrors, most of which will never occur. So, today, do as Bob Marley says, and “Don’t worry about a thing, cause every little thing is going to be alright.” Be carefree and pass the glow.
