July 28 — Mindful Minute
Today, take a minute (or more) and find the way. I love the philosophy of Taoism which is basically what I call “The Way.” One of the core principles is to live a simple life in harmony with nature. Lao Tzu, the father of Taoism says, “Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” Lao Tzu often uses water as symbolism for the journey of life. The way is just the concept of allowing our life to unfold — not fighting against the current — or forging ahead unnaturally. The way is finding our sweet spot — our ease. The way is listening to our intuitive self and discovering the path that brings us a sense of purpose and joy. Part of the discovery of “our way” is spending quiet time in nature, in meditation, and practicing continual learning. And don’t forget the quote, “Sometimes you must get lost to find your way.” We get lost, we make mistakes, we learn, we twist and turn and meander like a river until we become one with the sea.
