Today, take a minute (or more) and forgive. Holding hate in our hearts is like carrying a bag of stones on our back. It weights us down and causes a kind of numbing pain. Of course, it’s easier to forgive those who apologize. But what of those, who hurt us over and over without any remorse or a single, “I’m sorry.” We must practice this kind of forgiveness daily. It takes time — it takes tenacity. Wayne Dyer said, “By changing the way you choose to perceive the power others have over you, you’ll know instantly how to forgive.” Not forgiving empowers the ones who hurt us. It keeps us living in the past. So, today, get just a little closer to forgiving those who have hurt you deeply and feel your heart get just a little bit lighter.
