Daydream More, Worry Less
Today, take a minute (or more) and tell yourself to daydream more and worry less. Often, people create significant problems in advance by thinking of all the things that can go wrong. I recently saw this quote by Van Wilder. “Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.” However, it does get you somewhere. It gets you to a frazzled state of mind. It gets you to a place of exhaustion, fear, and overwhelm. It is easy to let our minds go into overdrive while so much uncertainty surrounds us. We should not expend our energy on fretting. Instead, we can put our thoughts into problem-solving, ideas, and actionable steps. Another idea is flipping the switch. Reverse the thoughts of everything that can go wrong to everything that can go right. Dream up beautiful outcomes and possibilities. If nothing else, we can put ourselves in a better mood, even if our dreams cross the realm into total fantasy.
