Clean as You Go
October 10 — Mindful Minute
Today, take a minute (or more) and clean as you go. Most of us don’t clean as we go. We get overwhelmed with the messes of our lives and we tell ourselves we will deal with it later. It’s understandable, so much of our mess piles up from our childhood. We’re young. We don’t have the tools to clean up the mess. By the time we are old enough to deal with it, it’s out of control. You know, like anything that piles up, and we just keep putting it off. Start today. If someone upsets you, forgive them. If you speak harshly to someone, apologize. If you argue with someone, sit down and talk it through. It’s time to start leaving the mess strewn behind us like litter on a highway. We need to learn to clean as we go. When we get a handle on the daily cleaning, we can start the thorough cleaning — the deep cleaning. We can reach below the surface to all those things that have been swept under the rug and hidden in the closet. A clean house always feels so good!
