Being Reasonable
Today, take a minute (or more) and think about what it means to be reasonable. I’m enjoying some videos by Robina Courtin. Yesterday, she talked about worrying about the future. She said, don’t worry, but plan. If you want a result, you must plan. Her analogy was planting seeds. Do what you are supposed to for them to grow, but don’t worry if they will. She says, “Having a clear view of what you want and planting the seeds — that’s reasonable and logical, but worrying about if they will grow, that’s just neurotic.” Right? If we follow the steps needed for an outcome and do our best, we have a good chance of things progressing. However, sitting around and fretting about the outcome from outside forces we can’t control — that is maddening. Let’s be reasonable, do our best, hope for a positive effect, and then deal with what arises.
