August 23 — Mindful Minute
Today, take a minute (or more) and change a feeling. Do you ever have days when you wake up feeling a little off right from the start? Then other days, you feel fantastic. Our subconscious mind plays us like a fiddle. Those off mornings could very well be threaded by our dreams or the thoughts that we experienced just before we went to sleep. Feelings are caused by thoughts — so if we can change a thought, we can change a feeling. If we have a negative thought (which will lead to a negative feeling), then we can recite a positive affirmation three times and flip the switch. For example, “I’m never going to get out of this financial scarcity.” Pause as soon as your mind throws this out. Inhale and exhale three times. Then say silently or loudly, “I am certain that I will be financially solvent very soon.” By saying the positive thought three times, we can flip the feeling of dread that a negative thought gives us and change it to a feeling of optimism. Our feelings determine our body language and how others perceive us. It’s all very subtle — thoughts — feelings — emotions. But we can become the architects of our lives by taking a minute or more every day and flipping our thoughts. Slowly over time we have the innate power to recreate our lives and the lives of others. Pass the glow.
