August 21 — Mindful Minute
Today, take a minute (or more) and be the wild one. Go ahead. Don’t hold back. Be the wild one. I saw this quote today by Kaitlin Foster, “She was a wild one, stomping on eggshells that everyone else tip-toed on.” And another one by the Finnish poet Elmer Diktonius, “Only the tame birds have a longing, the wild ones fly.” What does it mean to be the wild one? Maybe it’s just loosening the restraints. Maybe it means dancing with abandon. Maybe it’s laughing as loudly as you want or howling at the moon. Maybe it means hugging a tree and returning to the energy of nature. Maybe it means standing up for yourself regardless of the consequences. Maybe it means being bold — being brazen or slinging a few cuss words around. Maybe it means taking an entire day and not doing what is expected of you. Being the wild one means a thousand different things to a thousand different people. What does it mean to you? Whatever it means — it’s good to unleash yourself every once in a while, feed your primal self, and just go ahead and be the wild one.
