August 14 — Mindful Minute
Today, take a minute (or more) and be consistent. When we make the decision to change something in our lives, our greatest chance of success lies in consistency. Think about it. Do you want to start a meditation practice, be kinder, write a book, learn to knit, cook healthier meals? All these things require consistency. Tony Robbins said, “It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, it’s what we do consistently.” Consistency has always been difficult for me as I interpreted it as routine. Throughout my life, I have resisted “routine” believing it to be constricting and boring. However, consistency is the key to achievement. Consistency is the discipline that gets you to completion. Consistency must be deliberate. Consistency is the concept behind the word, “blissipline.” When we engage in the discipline and consistency that it takes to work on an intention or a goal or a promise every single day, then eventually we will fall into a blissful and mindful pattern of life. We will also improve. We will see results. We will make progress. We will get there. Today, decide where you want to be and what consistent action you need to take to make it happen.
