Today, take a minute (or more) and lose a word. The power of words, particularly those spoken aloud, is more significant than we often imagine. As much as choosing a positive word to carry us through the year will have an impact, losing a negative word or two will also bring results. I have a few I want to release. I often use the word “hate” quite flippantly. Think, “I hated that movie,” or “I hate cold weather.” It’s such a strong word. I’m letting it go and replacing it with “don’t like” or “don’t enjoy.” Additionally, I am releasing the word “obligation.” I don’t want to act out of obligation, only love. And, also “expect.” I don’t want to expect things to happen or for people to do or act in specific ways. I want to allow things to unfold as they will without any expectations.
